                英语语法高频考点——状语从句

一、让步状语从句

1. 引导让步状语从句的从属连词主要有although, though, even if/though, for all that, granted that, in spite of the fact that, regardless of the fact that, whether…or等连词。

Although/Though he was worn out, he kept on working.

Despite (=In spite of/For all) the bad weather, we enjoyed our holiday. 

2. as也可引导让步状语从句，但要将名词、形容词或副词等提到as前，若提前的是单数可数名词，要省略 a/an。

Hard as he works, he makes little progress.

Much as/though I like English, I am going to choose Chinese as my major.

Child as he is, he knows what is the right thing.

3. 连词while有时也可表示“尽管”、“虽然”，引导让步状语从句。

While I understand what you say, I can’t agree with you. 

While I like the colour, I don’t like the shape.

4. no matter+疑问词（who, what, where, when, how）引导让步状语从句，表示“无论，不管（谁，什么，哪里……）”，相当于“疑问词+ever”。

Don’t trust him, no matter what (=whatever) he says.

No matter how (=However) hard I work, there is always more to do.

5. no matter whether...or...结构通常将no matter省略，形成由whether...or (not)引导的让步状语从句，表示“不管……还是……”。当从句中含有be动词时，可进一步省略，表达成“be+主语+...or...”。

You’ll have to attend the ceremony, whether you’re free or busy.

Whether you believe it or not, it’s true.

She listens to the music for one hour every day, be she free or busy (=whether she is free or busy).
